Realtor Posts Facebook Comment Calling for Assassination of Police


What this shameful Realtor has done oversteps the bounds of decency and leaps into a pit of insanity and depravity.

My friend, Jim Gibbs, of the Career Institute, sent this upsetting story to me tonight.

Needless to say, the insidious, pernicious creep is yet another reason in my growing list of reasons to avoid Facebook like the plague (my original post) (...and part 2)

has lit a firestorm online with a personal comment on his personal Facebook page that has been used to invoke the Realtor brand.

The Police Beat Facebook Page posted the image above, wherein Carroll states,

“2 down. 49,000 to go.

Not ‘an execution’ just a minor insurrection and a bit of humble revenge.

Hundreds of people have taken to social media to rebuke his statements, flooding his broker’s page with negative commentary, and sharing the image with comments like “all my law enforcement friends feel free to ignore calls to his house,” and “would you hire this Realtor?”

His broker’s site has comments like, “Garbage business with an owner who supports the murder of Law Enforcement Officers. Avoid this business completely.”

Carroll's NAR Page:

Consumers are calling for Carroll to be “fired,” and although it is a common misunderstanding that Realtors work like hourly employees and can be given a pink slip, Carroll’s broker has the right to retract his sponsorship and drop his license, and he would have to find another broker.

According to the Texas Real Estate Commission, Carroll is the only salesperson in this two person brokerage, and all attempts for comment from Carroll and his broker Bryan Joseph Fagan, who appears to be a lawyer as well have failed.

The brokerage site is either down or permanently broken.

The Houston Association of Realtors, where Carroll is a member, tells us, “Statements made by individuals on their personal social media accounts do not represent the views of the association or real estate professionals as a whole.”

Regarding whether or not agents, brokers, or consumers have lodged any complaints with them, HAR tells us that they have “been made aware of the posting, yes.”

Police aren’t the only ones on Carroll's naughty list.

In October he tweeted, “Real Estate agents don't want to be members of HAR. We're forced to for MLS. It's an incompetent cartel.”

That is a silly thing to do.  People should know better in 2014 that they can't openly say these types of things on social media. People are too quick to start a witch hunt.

Posting such a demented comment is unbecoming a member of the real estate profession, Kevin, or of anyone in any civil profession. His post is daft, disturbing, foolish and unbalanced.

Yikes.  Not good.  I bet his broker/owner is furious too.  Things we do on personal pages still represent us and our associates in the business world, even as independent contractors. -Kasey

Facebook is garbage, Kasey and John. I don't subscribe to it and never will. I knew it'd become a forum for trash when it went online. I have strong reservations about doing business with any company or firm that uses it as a platform for commerce. I want ActiveRain to remove the "F" link and "F Like" icon from my blog pages.
