David, looking forward to such meet ups in our area too. Working on the dates....

Posted by Praful Thakkar, Andover, MA: Andover Luxury Homes For Sale (LAER Realty Partners) over 5 years ago

I did ELVIS WEEK in 1993...well worth it and the assembling of the property around Graceland is a real estate lesson worthy of The King!

All attendees should dress like Elvis!  Now that would be some meet-up!

Thanks, Praful. Come on down and try the fried peanut Butter and banana sandwiches. It was Elvis' favorite snack.

You're right, Wallace. Dolan, Favell and Charles Drive are nice streets that back up to Graceland, as examples, and run parallel to it. Many of the old Memphis homes off of Craft Road and Dugan Circle, behind the Graceland Plaza, are architectural masterpieces. You'd be surprised at the international buyers, who also happen to be great Elvis fans, who've purchased property adjacent to the home. They use their homes for friends and family and as retreats when they're in Memphis for Graceland events. Many are leased to his fans and provide a nice cash flow for investors. Graceland is terrific !

Elvis will endure as long as Memphis exists !

I'll have a guitar available, Gabe, but my polyester suit doesn't fit anymore and I can't grow side burns. I'll need the pasty kind. I'm having a fried peanut butter and banana sandwich for lunch to get me in the mood.

By the way, I took the engines out of his Convair 880 and Lockheed Jetstar with other airframe and powerplant students while in A&P school here in Memphis in the early 1980's.

I'd spend my lunch hour at the aviation school eating the food I brought from home sitting alone in the gunnery turret in an old B17, the Memphis Belle, until a swarm of yellow jackets attacked me one day from the flight deck. I fell out of gunnery turret about six feet and landed on my back. We had that old war bird in the backyard of the aviation school. I never climbed back up in the plane, although I'd sit under wing and eat lunch occasionally on hot days at the airfield. That yellow jacket nest was a disaster waiting to happen.

Graceland was a couple of miles down the road from the school.

Hope you had a nice 4th.

I hope you all have a great meet up, David.  It's always good to see AR friends.
