David Saks: No Big Deal

David Saks - Real Estate Broker - The Real Estate Mart of Tennessee, Inc. - 4040 North Watkins-Suite #4 - Memphis, Tennessee 38127 - Phone (901) 357-4663

No Big Deal

I was at my office

getting out of my Corvette

when this guy jumps out of a truck, rushes me,

and pleads with me to sell it to him.

I asked him why and he said,

"It'll save my marriage."

So I sold it to him.

I've learned that I can live with this decision

And that it doesn't change

the way that I do business :-)

No big deal, for Debbie's Challenge.

David, I've driven a few older Corvettes...love them! Lately I've considered adding one to my garage...maybe for Christmas.

I can't understand why a corvette would save a marriage but if it got him the car then I guess he must have told a good story.

He probably lied and wanted to make her jealous, Jane.

As long as the price is right, why not!  Maybe you can now get another 'Vette'.

I've been looking , Gabe. For now, I have three motorcycles and an antique Chrysler. I saw a couple of nice Cessnas for sale at the Navy Flying  Club. I was out there the other day looking at new radio towers recently constructed near the air fields amateur station. The Naval Air Station at Millington is still a great place. A bit of a ghost town but still great.

Reminds me of my son who worked hard and purchased a beautiful green Corvette. He loved it. He was 17. One stormy and rainy night he and a Cadillac driving in opposite directions collided head-on on an oily stretch of road. Both cars connected (albeit negatively) and drove into a house. Both cars were demolished though no one hurt. He still wants to buy that same model green Corvette. Is it a man thing? I hated driving it. At 5'3" height my feet just barely reaching the pedals, felt I was laid back in a bed and driving while peaking across the driver's wheel into a windshield. One thing, David, that Corvette did have class. Beautiful RED Corvette, David. Imagine my son would love your car.

Good story, David. Did you buy another Corvette? I would love to know. Thanks for entering the contest.

It sure is, Renee', excepting real estate on Mars.

Thanks, Hannah. I might buy another after Groundhog Day if the deal is right.

They seem very happy, Rebecca. He's a cabinet maker and works with area homebuilders.

Good story, Jane. Glad no one was hurt. I've owned four Corvette's, three Jaguars, two Mercedes, twelve Cadillac coupes and sedans, a Ferrari, a 1960 Rolls Royce, four Fiat Spyders, three Cadillac Limousines, antique Plymouths and Fords, and more. I'm down to three motorcycles and an antique Chrysler with 25000 miles on it for a daily driver. Thanks for the note.

ps....and a partridge in a pear tree.
