David Saks: How Was Your Day Today ?

How Was Your Day Today ?

As a real estate pro, you probably have a life at home like I do.

Although I don't sell, I commit to lot's of market study.

I keep my license active and call myself a real estate broker just in case I decide to take some listings once I've settled from my daily task of reviewing the bunches of fraud cases in the business that are reported to me every business day by the FBI, and others. And there's a truck load of it, by golly.

I get so tired of reading about real estate fraud cases all day that by the time I'm ready to go to bed I start to panic about not being able to awaken in case of world war 3.

I keep a geiger counter by my door to check for radiation levels outdoors before I go outside.

I'm just kidding, but I really do have a geiger counter by the door for a gag.

Although you never know, I might need it if the Cold War ever heats up again.

How was your day, today ?

Why do you spend so much time focused on the fraud cases? Yes, I know there are a lot of them and it doesn't make any of us in the business, look good.

The fraud press releases are there to create awareness of the problem, Joe. ActiveRain is not just a resource for consumers, but also a campus of learning for the real estate professional. The releases are a public service and it's my hope that the awareness of the level of fraud currently taking place will cause the more ethically motivated members of the community to step forward, seek preventive measures and remain vigilant, while at the same time protecting brokerage, client, lender and all of the important parties relative to any real estate transaction. A good education can be expensive, but ignorance even more so.

David -- I believe that your regular reporting of those who have besmirched the good name of real estate professionals helps those who are ethical and have integrity to stick to their correct position.

Have a great week!

Thank you, Steven. I believe that it actually does some good, as you suggest, albeit afflictive to all who engage in commerce by the rules.
