Why I Don't Use Facebook - Never Have - Never Will - Part 2

I don't use F'book, never have, and refuse to, as most of you know, and recently stumbled upon an unfolding of half-wits by accident.

It begins with a reprobate who calls himself a "Jimmy Mackin", or something like that, and a throng of deliberately offensive fulminations tightly crammed into a morons circle.

He compares me to Hannibal Lector in an opening reply to one of his crony misfits. Why ?

My original post in ActiveRain (click here) ruffled little Jimmy's feathers, therefore he resorted to gang warfare to illuminate his poor ability to understand.

Cyber bullies don't deal with you man to man on your own turf. They run in packs like street vermin. Most off their meds.

By the way, I don't know any of the attention seeking competing entities in Mackin's worthless clog, nor would I care to. That's right....a "clog" ! Trash in the pipes. Choked-up, backed-up foul smelling sludge which is stereotypically F'Book.

That's quite the FB thread. They sound like kids in high school.

David - You don't need to convince most of us.  I've got 3 kids all in school and 2 of whom will be in HS very soon.  I tell them they can't be on FB and they thank me.  They aren't nerds; they are among the best athletes in our town, but they've seen the social damage that FB has caused.

Further, I always mention stupid, rought #s, but if the world thinks FB is worth $50,000,000,000, the the subscribers they have, say 50,000,0000 to be conservative (I know they have more - but I'm sure it's way, way less than 50mil that use the 'service') then each of us have donated $1,000 of our personal data to FB,

DID YOU GET YOUR MONEY'S WORTH?

Probably some dropouts, too, Pamela.

You're the recipient of the 'Dad of the Month' award, David, as far as I'm concerned. Keeping your kids away from F'book speaks both loud and clearly that you love and protect them. Applause....

Ditto Here!  I have a Fb account to CHECK OUT PROSPECTIVE TENANTS and I'm in a "family group" started by my sister...I'm a GOOGLE+ Girl!

Don't have one either bu tthenI don't have a website either. A/R and e-mail is as far as I venture out on the web, maybe that is why they call it the web. BTW have a radio but no TV, had one of those once but I could run my vacum cleaner and it at the same time so I'd rather have a clean house so I gave it back to sears.

I only have a facebook account so someone could find me for real estate purposes.

Posted by Stella Barbour, Principal Broker, Serving Virginia and Maryland (NoVa Brokers LLC) about 8 years ago

Understood, Wallace. I don't go out of my way to discredit users who subscribe to F'Book. It's the program itself that sucks and invites more discredit that one can muster.

You can live very well without F'Book, too, Joyce. F'Book creates unhealthy social and peer pressures like delinquints do when they loaf around and smoke behind the oak tree on the playground at school. Anyone who doesn't indulge or conform to their fantasy is an outcast and condemned to hell.

By the way, Joyce, who can watch tv when you have the Blue Angels flying over your house all day long ?

Posted by David Saks ((retired)) about 8 years ago

Understood, Stella :-), and there's nothing wrong with that if it helps generate some business without having to endure the baneful folly of a social miscreant, or worse, a room full of them like I discovered.

Anyone who uses Facebook for social reasons waste their time, I believe. I of course have it for business purposes, but trust me when I say I have never EVER gained a client or lead through it.

Posted by Devona Garrigus, REALTOR® / Short Sale Specialist (Garrigus Real Estate) about 8 years ago

I believe it, Devona. Not surprised considering the low quality of F'Book. F'Book is spread out, not concentrated, unfocused for business and far flung. It's Craigslist for mish mash and a place for pervs to shop for sex toys.
